Volleyball Recap: Sutherland Sailors vs. Southwest Roughriders
Sutherland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Southwest Roughriders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roughriders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on September 11th.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-8.
Addisyn Gunderson paced Sutherland's offense, picking up three kills. Gunderson got some help from Drew Rotert and her nine assists.
Southwest was led to victory by Caitlyn Adams and Bellamie Stritt. Adams had seven digs and five assists, while Stritt had five digs. That's the most digs Adams has posted over her last six matches.
Sutherland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Southwest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-1.
Sutherland has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Hyannis on the 27th. As for Southwest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Hitchcock County on the 27th.
