Softball Recap: Galatia/Thompsonville's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Galatia/Thompsonville was riding high fresh off their 21-3 takedown of Egyptian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Galatia/Thompsonville fell 14-10 to the Vienna Eagles on Friday. The loss was the Bearcats' first of the season.

Amilya Williford made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Williford is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hollyn McCabe, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Galatia/Thompsonville fell to 3-1. As for Vienna, their record now sits at 4-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galatia/Thompsonville will challenge Crab Orchard at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vienna, they will square off against Plano at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Plano has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.25 runs per game on average), something Vienna will no doubt try to take advantage of.
