Basketball Game Preview: Blaine Borderites vs. Meridian Trojans

The Blaine Borderites will head out to square off against the Meridian Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Blaine is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Blaine had to suffer through a 79-47 loss at the hands of Burlington-Edison. While losing is never fun, the Borderites can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Tigers are ranked 67th).

Meanwhile, Meridian was able to grind out a solid victory over Squalicum on Tuesday, taking the game 56-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Meridian pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Blaine, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Blaine suffered a grim 72-48 defeat to Meridian when the teams last played back in January. Can Blaine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
