Lanham Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They strolled past the Southern Maryland Christian Academy Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 63-44. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Mustangs are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lanham Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Naz Joy led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine assists. Joy is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed five or more in each of the last three games he's played. Jamar Payen was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Lanham Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 33 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Lanham Christian's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Lanham Christian nor Southern Maryland Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
