Basketball Recap: Rocky River Comes Up Short

Rocky River played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 72-28 loss at the hands of the West Charlotte Lions. The Ravens lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in November of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 79-57 score last time.

Rocky River lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kieji Cunningham, who posted five points.

West Charlotte found their leader in sophomore Kaharri Coleman, who shot 71% from the field en route to 14 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cha Cho Womack, who went 6-for-7 on his way to 15 points.

Rocky River's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Rocky River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 83-31 defeat against North Mecklenburg on the 19th. As for West Charlotte, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Harding University at 7:30 p.m. on the 28th.
