Baseball Recap: Hillcrest Wins Going Away Against La Sierra

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rancho Verde, Hillcrest was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the La Sierra Eagles. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Niko Bernal was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Ramos, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Bernal wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Sierra only managed five hits.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 6-4-1. As for La Sierra, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Hillcrest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-2 victory against Mayfair on the 27th. As for La Sierra, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-2 defeat against Moreno Valley on the 26th.
