Softball Game Preview: Brown County Eagles vs. Greencastle Tiger Cubs

The Brown County Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Greencastle Tiger Cubs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Brown County was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They never let Southwestern get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.

The result came thanks to Ava Sanders's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brown County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubree Denton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That's the most hits Denton has posted since back in March. Maelyn Bowling was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Greencastle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 21-2 to Terre Haute North Vigo.

Brown County's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Greencastle, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
