Westlake and Thomas Stone are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Westlake Wolverines will square off against the Thomas Stone Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Friday, Westlake came up short against North Point and fell 51-38. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Westlake had strong showings from Ethan Minkah, who posted seven points and four blocks, and Waylin Duhon, Jr., who earned six points. Those four blocks gave Minkah a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Thomas Stone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-55 heartbreaker at the hands of La Plata.

Thomas Stone's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Westlake came out on top in a nail-biter against Thomas Stone in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 42-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westlake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
