Isaiah Newson leads a balanced attack to beat Oasis

Recap: North Fort Myers Red Knights vs. Oasis Sharks

The North Fort Myers Red Knights entered their tilt with the Oasis Sharks with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. North Fort Myers escaped with a win on Friday against Oasis by the margin of a single free throw, 52-51. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but North Fort Myers was the better team in the second half.

North Fort Myers' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Newson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The contest was Newson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Makar, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.

Oasis' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javarius Jackson, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Jackson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Austin Louzao was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Even though they lost, Oasis were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Fort Myers only posted eight assists.

North Fort Myers has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Oasis, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

North Fort Myers will head out on the road to face off against Mariner at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mariner has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 286 points over their last four matchups. As for Oasis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
