Suwannee was the 21-13 winner over Lafayette when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell 37-30 to the Hornets on Friday.

Despite the loss, Suwannee still got an impressive performance from Lj Smith, who rushed for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry.

Tywan K Williamson had an outrageously good game for Lafayette as he threw for 184 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 132 yards on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards K Williamson has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tucker Higginbotham, who picked up 23 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Suwannee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lafayette, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Suwannee will face off against Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lafayette, they will head out to face off against Hamilton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
