Baseball Recap: Newkirk Has No Trouble Against Frontier

Newkirk won the last time they faced Frontier and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Mustangs. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Lane Stone, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Grady Wood was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Newkirk now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Frontier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newkirk will venture away from home to face off against Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Frontier, they will head out to square off against Oklahoma Bible at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
