Softball Recap: Rio Vista's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Rio Vista couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 15-8 to the Moody Bearcats on Thursday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Keller Rodriguez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Swindle, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Rio Vista's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-4. As for Moody, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-8-1 record this season.

While Rio Vista had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
