Soccer Game Preview: Mission Hills vs. Del Norte

The Mission Hills Grizzlies will venture away from home to challenge the Del Norte Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mission Hills took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Rancho Bernardo onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Broncos are ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Del Norte hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They and San Pasqual finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw. While a more conclusive result would've been nice, the Nighthawks got plenty of practice considering the match was the highest-scoring draw the team's played all season.

Mission Hills' win bumped their record up to 13-4-2. Del Norte's draw gives them a new season record of 10-0-5.

Mission Hills came up short against Del Norte when the teams last played back in January, falling 3-1. Can Mission Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
