Softball Recap: Pewitt Comes Up Short

McLeod hit Pewitt with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Brahmas came up short against the Longhorns, falling 10-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-6 on March 3rd.

Alyssa Strickland was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mckensi Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Pewitt's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for McLeod, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Pewitt will square off against Harts Bluff at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McLeod, they will take on Rivercrest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Longhorns are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
