Volleyball Recap: ACE Charter Comes Up Short

ACE Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the University Prep Academy Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-6, 25-11.

University Prep Academy found their leader in sophomore Taran Kollu, who had 13 aces and three digs. Kollu has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Pranith Raman, who had seven digs and seven aces.

ACE Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for University Prep Academy, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-6.

Coming up, ACE Charter is taking a road trip to challenge Waldorf at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cheetahs are facing the Mavericks at the right time seeing as the Mavericks are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for University Prep Academy, they will face off against Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
