Baseball Recap: Concord Academy Has No Trouble Against Gaston Day

Concord Academy never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Gaston Day Spartans 9-0. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Teagan Jordan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Hatley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Concord Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gabe Martin, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI.

Concord Academy's record now sits at 4-8. As for Gaston Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Coming up, Concord Academy will face off against SouthLake Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Gaston Day, they will challenge Westminster Catawba Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
