Basketball Recap: Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves vs. Crawfordsville Athenians
It's playoff time, and Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Crawfordsville Athenians on Wednesday as the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves made off with a 72-46 victory. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Athenians are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory to victory were Austin Ford and Nicholas Sobek. Ford shot 44% from the field to rack up 18 points in addition to six assists and five boards, while Sobek went 7-for-12 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Sobek continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.
