Softball Game Preview: North Pitt Panthers vs. Washington Pam Pack

North Pitt is 0-10 against Washington since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Pam Pack at 7:00 p.m. North Pitt has given up an average of 13.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Pitt is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Ayden - Grifton, falling 13-1.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Washington made sure to put some runs up on the board against Greene Central on Friday. The Pam Pack's pitchers stepped up to hand the Rams a 16-0 shutout. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pam Pack yet this season.

Emma Orr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Carly Woolard was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most triples she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Miller, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Washington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greene Central only posted an OBP of .182.

Washington is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for North Pitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

North Pitt might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Washington when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
