Carlson took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past the Roosevelt Bears 42-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Marauders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Bears are ranked 345th).
Trent Ison was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 126 yards and three TDs on only nine carries, and also threw for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Izaiah Wright also helped out as he racked up 153 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Carlson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 192 rushing yards in 13 consecutive games dating back to last season.
