Baseball Recap: Minarets Triumphs

While Minarets's victory against Fresno Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Eagles 4-2. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Minarets got a great performance from Logan Meyer as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. The Mustangs are 4-2 when Meyer allows two or fewer earned runs, but 6-16 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Ethan Akins was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Minarets: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-18 otherwise.

Minarets' victory bumped their record up to 10-18. As for Fresno Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Minarets nor Fresno Christian have any future games scheduled.
