St. Charles Catholic came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Brusly Panthers by a score of 8-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Comets also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

St. Charles Catholic's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Brusly, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 24-4-1 record.

St. Charles Catholic and Brusly should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. St. Charles Catholic (ranked 38th) will meet Riverdale (ranked 142nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Brusly will square off against Tara at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 188 places (23 vs. 211).
