Basketball Recap: Dylan Hodgson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Linganore over Frederick

If Linganore was feeling good fresh off their 82-29 takedown of Catoctin last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Linganore Lancers fell just short of the Frederick Cadets by a score of 57-55 on Friday. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cadets earlier this season, when they won 58-56.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Hodgson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Hodgson has become a key player for Linganore: the team is undefeated when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 2-6 otherwise. Brandon Rosario was another key player, putting up eight points.

Linganore's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Frederick, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-7.

Linganore will welcome Oakdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Frederick, they will square off against Governor Thomas Johnson on Wednesday.
