Football Recap: Caldwell Takes a Loss

Caldwell played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 64-35 loss at the hands of the Jarrell Cougars. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Caldwell lost, don't look at Coy Becka. Despite the final result, he rushed for 124 yards and one touchdown. Becka's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 124 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Caldwell now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Jarrell, the win was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Caldwell will challenge Smithville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jarrell, they will face off against Llano at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Yellowjackets have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
