Softball Recap: Tottenville Has No Trouble Against Fort Hamilton

Tottenville came out on top against Fort Hamilton on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 14-run third inning. The Pirates blew past the Tigers 17-2. Considering the Pirates have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Tottenville got a massive performance out of Nina Rivera, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave Rivera a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amanda Reyes, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Tottenville and bumps their season record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Fort Hamilton, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-4 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tottenville beat the Tigers by a score of 17-2 on Friday.
