Basketball Game Preview: Innovation Montessori Panthers vs. Brevard HEAT Firehawks

The Innovation Montessori Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Brevard HEAT Firehawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

It was a proper cat-fight when Innovation Montessori challenged Hampden DuBose Academy on Thursday. Innovation Montessori was dealt a 79-27 defeat at the hands of Hampden DuBose Academy.

Meanwhile, Brevard HEAT was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 56-52 to Master's Academy. The Firehawks haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Innovation Montessori will have to keep a close watch on Roberto Cosa and Riley Ellis, a pair of players who had a big impact on Brevard HEAT's prior game. Cosa went 8 of 16 en route to 22 points, while Ellis posted 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals. With that strong performance, Ellis is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Koubek, who put up two points along with 13 boards and four steals.

Innovation Montessori now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Brevard HEAT, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Innovation Montessori came up short against Brevard HEAT in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-48. Can Innovation Montessori avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
