New Bern's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Northern Guilford on Friday. The New Bern Bears breezed by the West Craven Eagles at home to the tune of 35-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

New Bern got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jussan Wiggins out in front who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another signal caller making a difference was Terrance Mccormick, who threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns.

New Bern's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as Currine Henry, Ivion Smith, and Javon Wesley picked up one apiece. New Bern pushed their record up to 2-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for West Craven, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

New Bern will challenge Knightdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Craven, they will welcome Havelock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
