Southwest SD had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Castle Park on Thursday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Trojans. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Sebestian Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dario Zepeda, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Johan Colmenares, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

The victory (which was Southwest SD's third in a row) raised their record to 13-10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Castle Park, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.

Southwest SD wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-1 defeat against Chula Vista on the 12th.
