Football Recap: Troy Takes a Loss

Troy extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-5. They took a blow against the San Clemente Tritons, falling 41-0. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Tritons are ranked 42nd).

As for San Clemente, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

San Clemente's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Bishop, who threw for 61 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Chloe Williams was another key passer, throwing for 178 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of her passes.

Looking ahead, Troy will welcome Sonora at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for San Clemente, they will venture away from home to take on Edison at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tritons' defense better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 39.2 points per game this season.
