Baseball Recap: Cumberland Comes Up Short

Cumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-2 to the Lunenburg Central Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 back in March.

Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Lunenburg Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cumberland will take on rival Buckingham at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lunenburg Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Nottoway at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
