Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Samantha Kinning and Mattilyn Trimble Lead Pender to Victory

Pender hadn't done well against North Bend Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Pendragons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 3-2. The game was the first time the Pendragons have beaten the Tigers on their court since October 17, 2020.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-96) Pender actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 16-25, 15-25, 15-10.

Pender was led to victory by Mattilyn Trimble and Samantha Kinning. Trimble had 17 digs and two aces, while Kinning had 13 digs and two assists. That's the most aces Trimble has posted over her last three matchups.

The win (which was Pender's third in a row) raised their record to 18-12. As for North Bend Central, they moved to 17-14 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Pender didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Stanton on the 27th. As for North Bend Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Omaha Nation on the 27th.
