Mount Calvary Christian is 9-1 against Christian School of York since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Mount Calvary Christian will head out to take on Christian School of York at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mount Calvary Christian took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They skirted past Shalom Christian Academy 2-0.
David Zamora made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Zamora wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Hubler, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Hubler has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Christian School of York got the win against Conestoga Christian on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-3. With that victory, Christian School of York brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Like Mount Calvary Christian, Christian School of York also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Cunningham. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cunningham was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Max Kruth was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Austin Holbritter was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
The win got Mount Calvary Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Christian School of York, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Mount Calvary Christian skirted past Christian School of York 7-6 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mount Calvary Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
