Basketball Recap: Nadeen Elgamal Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat University

Innovation hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They secured a 40-35 W over the University Cougars on Tuesday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Innovation to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nadeen Elgamal, who posted 14 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Elgamal a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Reid, who had five points along with 14 rebounds and five assists.

Innovation smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Innovation is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-12 record this season. As for University, they dropped their record down to 9-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Innovation has already played their next game, a 60-44 loss against Jones on the 29th. University has also already played their next contest (against Olympia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
