Recap: Canton Warriors vs. Athens Wildcats        
        
		
            
 The Canton Warriors suffered their biggest  defeat since December 22, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough  66-38 loss at the hands of Athens. While losing is never fun, Canton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings  (they are ranked 623rd, while Athens is ranked 307th).
 Despite the loss, Canton still got an impressive performance from   Ben Fitch, who  scored 18 points along with five  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Brayden Vroman, who  scored eight points along with seven  rebounds.
 Canton  struggled to work together and  finished the game with only  an  assist. They  were crushed by their opponents in that department as Athens  racked up 22  assists.
 Athens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Connor Mosher led the charge by  scoring 18 points along with two  steals. Mosher is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last four games he's  played.  Nick Jacob was another key contributor,  scoring 14 points.
 Canton has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost five of their last six contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Athens, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
 Canton won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against Northeast Bradford at 7:00  p.m.  on January 25th. Northeast Bradford is coming into the  game hot, having won their last five games. As for Athens, they will head out on the road to  take on  Wyalusing Valley at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
