Baseball Recap: Gorham's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Gorham waltzed into their match on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Moultonborough Academy Panthers with a sharp 17-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Mason Roberge and Kasey Guilmette made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Roberge tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Guilmette tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Roberge got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Guilmette got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That double was Roberge's first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaac Langlois, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Saladino, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Gorham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Gorham pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Moultonborough Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
