Softball Recap: Upper Darby Comes Up Short

Upper Darby had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-12 to make it five. They came up short against the Garnet Valley Jaguars, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 back in March.

As for Garnet Valley, their record now sits at 9-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Garnet Valley's part, Ashlyn Thompson looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Thompson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zoey Rogers, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Roux, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Upper Darby will head out to square off against Haverford at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fords have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Garnet Valley, they will take on Conestoga at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
