Ridgeview posted their closest win since April 4, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Christ's Church Academy Eagles 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Jose Morales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Ridgeview let Julio Motta and Waylon Smith run wild. Motta scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Smith got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Smith a new career-high. Caden Sears also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Ridgeview's record is now 4-7. As for Christ's Church Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Ridgeview will take on First Coast at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christ's Church Academy, they will host Cedar Creek Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Christ's Church Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
