Softball Game Preview: Reynolds Raiders vs. Gresham Gophers

Reynolds hasn't had much luck against Gresham recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Gophers at 5:00 p.m.

On Friday, Reynolds came up short against Nelson and fell 6-2. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Gresham had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cavaliers a 10-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Gophers have won by exactly ten runs.

Gresham let Suntaya Riddle and Maddy Sagapolutele run wild. Riddle went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Sagapolutele went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Sagapolutele is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Grover, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Reynolds' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Gresham, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Reynolds might still be hurting after the 18-2 defeat they got from Gresham in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
