Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Eastside couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Granite Hills Cougars on Saturday, falling 14-2. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Granite Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Eastside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Granite Hills, they will square off against St. Genevieve at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Valiants' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
