Basketball Recap: Woodland Takes a Loss

Woodland was the 52-41 winner over Randolph County when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Woodland Bobcats opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-42 defeat to the Randolph County Tigers. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 19-13 in the first quarter.

Woodland's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Randolph County, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-12 record.

Woodland will challenge Horseshoe Bend at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodland is facing Horseshoe Bend at the right time seeing as Horseshoe Bend is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Randolph County, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Randolph County Tigers face off against the Wellborn Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Randolph County will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: Wellborn will have lost five straight heading into Monday's game.
