Basketball Recap: Peabody Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Wossman

On Friday, Peabody faced Wossman in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Peabody Warhorses fell just short of the Wossman Wildcats by a score of 51-48. The Warhorses haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Peabody's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 23-4. As for Wossman, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

Coming up, Peabody will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Captain Shreve at 6:30 p.m. Captain Shreve will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Peabody surely won't give up without a fight. Wossman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
