Basketball Recap: Westwood Christian Piles Up the Points Against Coral Reef

Westwood Christian won the last time they faced Coral Reef and things went their way on Monday too. The Westwood Christian Warriors blew past the Coral Reef Barracudas, posting a 76-45 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Westwood Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Martinez, who went 7 of 11 en route to 19 points and eight boards. Martinez's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tristen Barnes was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Westwood Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Westwood Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. As for Coral Reef, they moved to 11-9 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Westwood Christian and Southwest will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Westwood Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Coral Reef, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
