Preview: Hancock Central Bulldogs vs. Twiggs County Cobras
The Hancock Central Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Twiggs County Cobras at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Hancock Central won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. Their rough 68-43 loss to Johnson County might stick with them for a while.
Hancock Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaliyah Hargrove, who scored 13 points, and Key'Nya Scott who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hargrove has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Twiggs County had to suffer through a rough 57-17 loss at the hands of Johnson County. While losing is never fun, Twiggs County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while Johnson County is ranked 261st).
Hancock Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Twiggs County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-21.
Hancock Central beat Twiggs County 42-33 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hancock Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
