Baseball Game Preview: Union Academy Cardinals vs. Ballantyne Ridge Wolves

The Union Academy Cardinals will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Union Academy didn't have quite enough to beat North Stanly and fell 6-5. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Union Academy got a good showing from Jaxx Rape, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Christian Pawl was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Beckett Gurian also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ballantyne Ridge). They put the hurt on Olympic with a sharp 23-0 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Ballantyne Ridge's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Union Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
