Preview: Toll Gate Titans vs. Lincoln Lions
Having just played yesterday, the Toll Gate Titans will get right back to it and host the Lincoln Lions at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Rhode Island (Toll Gate is ranked 14th, while Lincoln is ranked 17th).
Toll Gate's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 44-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Smithfield.
Even though Lincoln has not done well against Exeter-West Greenwich recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Lincoln managed a 51-47 victory over Exeter-West Greenwich. The victory was just what Lincoln needed coming off of a 71-45 defeat in their prior game.
Toll Gate has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Toll Gate was able to grind out a solid win over Lincoln in their previous matchup last Monday, winning 53-45. Does Toll Gate have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lincoln turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
