Basketball Recap: Reid Vining's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Farragut over Maryville + How To Watch

If Farragut was feeling good fresh off their 62-18 takedown of First Baptist Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Admirals took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maryville Red Rebels on Tuesday. The contest marked the Admirals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Admirals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reid Vining, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 10 points and five rebounds. Vining has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 56% every time he's hit the court this season. Britton Lewis was another key player, going 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points and six boards.

Luke Sigmund produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds for Maryville. Those 15 boards gave Sigmund a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Woodlee, who shot 70% from the field en route to 16 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Farragut fell to 5-1. As for Maryville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Farragut will challenge Hardin Valley Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Admirals will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Maryville, they will face off against Walker Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
