Baseball Recap: Beaver River Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Beaver River owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They put the hurt on the Indian River Wolves with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Beavers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

Carter Rice made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Kade Schneider was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Brit Dicob was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Beaver River's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Indian River, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Beaver River will have a chance to go back-to-back against Indian River: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
