Volleyball Recap: Central Valley Hawks vs. Beyer Patriots
Central Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Beyer Patriots, falling 3-0. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
Central Valley took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-2, 25-12, 25-20.
Their offense was headlined by Kassandra Torres and Payton McConnell, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Gabriela Delatorre and her seven assists. McConnell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Beyer, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-5.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Central Valley will challenge rival Livingston at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Beyer is set to face off against their familiar foe Pacheco at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
