Volleyball Recap: Decatur Central Falls Short of Center Grove in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Decatur Central can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Center Grove Trojans on Thursday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their offense was headlined by Hudson Smith and Ayo Odusina, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Esteban Martinez and his five assists. Smith was also a major player on defense: he and Mike Norton shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Decatur Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Center Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8-1 record this season.

Decatur Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Center Grove, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Monrovia on the 17th.
