Basketball Recap: Scott Takes Down Clay County in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Scott rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Clay County Panthers, posting a 99-60 win. The Skyhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Scott had a senior duo take command as Tyler Walls went 8-for-15 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points along with five assists and five boards and Cole Elkins posted 12 points in addition to eight assists and eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walls has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Williamson, who earned 15 points and eight assists.

Scott was working as a unit and finished the game with 29 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Scott's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points over those games. As for Clay County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

Looking ahead, Scott will challenge Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Scott has given up an average of 55.2 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Clay County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
