Softball Preview: Goodhue Wildcats vs. Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights

The Goodhue Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

At the plate, Aubrey Christianson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Christianson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Kenyon-Wanamingo had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Awesome Blossoms as they made off with a 17-11 victory. Surprisingly, this marked the Knights' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The team relied heavily on Amber Lerfald, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Chloe Donkers also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Kenyon-Wanamingo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Goodhue's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Kenyon-Wanamingo, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
